In Memory of Kodie

In Memory of Kodie

In Memory of Kodie | Dedication by The Yost Family
We adopted our beloved Kodie from GRRNT in July of 2004. At the time he was being fostered by a couple in Keller and was known as “Hawkeye”. He was from day one the most gentle and sweet dog that we’d ever seen and quickly became a part of our family. Kodie loved life and he loved people. He also loved our two cats. Our Siamese was as fond of him as he was of her. The only things he didn’t like were storms and the UPS truck. He never met a stranger and introduced us to so many people. His favorite trick when visitors came was to chase his tail and catch it which delighted all of our guests, especially children. He also loved to walk himself. He would put his leash in his mouth and run all over the house until we were ready to take him on a walk. He was a beautiful, gentle and sweet dog with so much personality. On Tuesday the 15th of October, he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He had been diagnosed with an adrenal gland tumor and also a brain tumor and we were keeping him comfortable until it was time. The house is so empty without him and we miss him terribly. Rest in peace, dear Kodie. There will never be another dog like you. “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” ~ Anatole France
