6 year-old Star was an owner-surrender to a local animal shelter. As you can see from her pictures, her family must have been spending all of their money on dog food because our Star is way too chubby!

When Star reaches her target weight she will be a gorgeous little girl. She has the most beautiful, curly, red hair and the gentlest personality. She got right in the bath tub when her foster family brought her home and loved every minute of a warm bath. She is great at being brushed and trimmed – after all a girl does like to look pretty.

Star was timid for the first day or so but, now has made herself quite at home. She adores playing with her foster brother golden but she really loves going for walks – she has a lot of energy considering her girth. Star is on a strict diet and exercise routine and has already lost a few pounds in the short time she has been in rescue. We will continue working to get those unhealthy excess pounds off of her.

Star loves dogs and kids, which is as it should be. She has good manners and has shown no problems with barking, chewing, counter surfing, getting on furniture or housetraining. She has behaved perfectly when left alone in the house and is also content in her crate as well. She would be a great companion for anyone that likes to take brisk walks followed by a lounge to watch TV, while she plays with her stuffed elephant.

Star is a loving, goofy, little girl - true to her golden breed. Any family will be truly lucky to have this Star shine in their home.
