Sailor is a sweet 2 year-old male who will melt your heart – all he wants to do is please! All he asks in return is love and affection.

As a young boy without much training, Sailor does need some help figuring out how to behave. He is mostly housebroken and is learning his basic commands, but generally will paw or lie down and roll over if he doesn't understand what you want. He does great on a leash as he does not pull and responds easily to correction. He also does not counter surf.

However, he does try to crawl on your lap or lay beside you on furniture, and he paws at you to let you know he wants your attention. He favors men, and plays a little rougher with them. Occasionally, Sailor will have issues with submissive urination if he gets too intimidated, and though he has gotten better, it is still something his forever family should be aware of. Because he is young and still has a tendency to paw, he would not be recommended for families with young children.

He plays very well with his foster sister, so he would be great as an only dog or with other dogs. He is very interested in smaller animals (small dogs and cats), but it is not known how he would do with them.

Sailor is undergoing heart worm treatment so he'll be available for adoption soon. He also has allergies that are easily controlled with some reasonably priced, over the counter allergy meds and an ear flush twice a week during allergy season.
