Bonni - #09-076
Female - 8 years
Must be adopted with Laci #09-075
Bonni and Laci (the “Girls”) are all the entertainment anyone needs - you can
cancel your cable!
The Girls came to GRRNT out of love and desperation. They were turned into a
local animal shelter when their owner lost his home to foreclosure; the poor
man was so upset, he sat in the lobby and cried as he released them. They are 9
and 8, and have spent their entire lives together, so they are very bonded.
When the GRRNT volunteers saw how attached they were to each other, they just
could not leave Bonni behind. Bonni may be a mix, but she has a true Golden
heart.
Their foster mom says: “Laci is probably the sweetest female we've ever
fostered over 4 years. She’s always is the last dog out the door - looking at
you as if to say: Is it ok for me to go out now?” She's a gentle love sponge
who really appreciates any attention you can give her. In the evenings her
favorite thing is to play keep away for about 3 minutes with a sock, which she
never chews. Occasionally she'll growl at Bonni as if to start a fight, and
then they’ll look at each other like “That was really funny!” Every time Laci
hears Bonni's name, she looks up - she's been with Bonni all her life and would
be lost without her.
Bonni is probably part Husky and Golden; she’s a really pretty cream color. She
loves to chat with humans when she's got something on her mind. When coming
down some tricky stairs she says 'Oh, my', and a low rumble at your knee is her
asking to be let out of the house. She also understands any command you give
her and obeys. Besides being a great companion for Laci, she's a wonderful
guard dog for her family. Her fosters had a family member whom Bonni hadn't met
arrive late at night during the holidays – ever since, she has stood nightly
guard at the entrance to the bedroom to protect them from “strangers” that come
in too late for her taste.
Because they are set in their ways, we recommend that the Girls be in a home
where they are the only dogs, or with an older large male dog (no small dogs or
cats).
The Girls are looking for a very special home where they can stay together for
the rest of their lives, and never again have to feel the loss they felt when
dad dropped them off. Whoever the special family is that takes them in will be
rewarded with many hours of entertainment and grateful love and appreciation
from both of these wonderful girls.
