Price - #08-061
Male - 1 year
Price is an absolutely beautiful one-year-old male with a gorgeous coat and
stunning light golden eyes. He was kept in a yard and given up when he became
too much work. The best way to describe Price is a little puppy inside a 75
pound dog body. He came to his foster home as virtually a blank slate--he knew
nothing.
Apparently, he hadn't been exposed to very much. He can be somewhat timid when
it comes to new things but he does well with a little encouragement, once he
realizes everything is o.k. He was scared to get in the car the first time but
once inside, he rode very well. He likes to chase birds and is no longer
startled when they take flight. He is becoming more confident as he is exposed
to new things and reassured by his foster parents that the new things are
alright.
He has a very happy, curious nature and he really seems to be enjoying all the
new things life has to offer.
Though he came to rescue with little training and socialization, Price is very
friendly toward people and other dogs. He is eager to please and learns
quickly. He mastered the dog door on his first day and is learning about toys
and tennis balls from the other dogs at his foster home. He would probably
enjoy another dog to play with.
He quickly learned "sit" and "shake". He's an absolute dream on a leash and
does not pull at all. He is good in his crate and will go in with gentle
guidance or for a cookie. He is quiet and does not bark--even when the other
dogs in the house are barking.
Price does not jump up on people, which is a definite plus for such a big boy,
but he has no idea how big he is. He likes to cuddle and get close to people,
but he is so large and so eager for attention that he might accidentally knock
a smaller child down. So it's probably best he goes to a home with slightly
older children.
Price is very playful and affectionate. He is a big fan of belly rubs and will
enthusiastically throw himself to the floor if he thinks he's about to get a
good rubbing.
You will not believe that a dog can burp like Price does....generally, after a
meal, he will belch once or twice with amazing volume. His foster mom is trying
to explain to him that this is not dignified or classy behavior. His foster dad
thinks it's part of Price's charm. It makes every one laugh and he seems so
proud of himself at being the cause of the laughter--he clearly enjoys the
attention that results.
Price is a wonderful dog who is discovering the world around him and quickly
learning the rules, routines and what's expected. He is on his way to being a
wonderful companion for a loving , active family.
What else can we say about this beautiful boy? The Price is definitely right!
