Pepper - #08-021
Male - 1 year

Pepper is a beautiful 1 year old male who was found as a stray by Animal Control. He had a microchip so they were able to trace him to a puppy mill, but the breeder had sold him to a pet store. No one had records of who he was sold to or who his current owners were, and no one ever even registered his chip. So Pepper is on his own and depending on us to find him a real home.

Pepper hasn’t had a lot of training, but he’s starting to get the hang of things. He now knows “sit”, has just about conquered “down”, and is completely housebroken. He walks nicely on a leash, although he does want to greet everyone, as everyone is his friend.

Pepper does not like a crate at all, but he has had free run of his foster’s house (with a doggie door) for about a month with no problems. He gets along well with other dogs and with cats, but we don’t know about children. Given his young age, he should probably not be in a household with small children.

Pepper’s a little nervous getting in the car (but getting better every day) and he rides very nicely, lying down in the back of the SUV.

His foster mom says Pepper is “one of the easiest foster dogs I have had in almost 6 years of fostering. He is very sweet and is ready to go when you are, but ready to relax when you aren’t.”

Because Pepper hasn’t had a real home yet, he would be perfect for someone who has the time to enjoy a great friend!! He needs human companionship and should not be home alone all the time, so he’d be perfect for a work at home or stay at home mom or dad. If you’re looking for a true companion who will always be there to add a little spice to your life, add Pepper to your family!
