Diva - #1889
Female - 2 Years
Diva has the exuberant personality and high spirits of a star performer! She’s beautiful, but without the attitude.
Diva’s a small, young redhead who was found by Animal Control on the loose in a rural area with a "gentleman friend." She had obviously not been trained for house or leash manners, but is so intelligent and eager to please that her training is going very well. She’s making the most of each day as she is now housebroken, uses the doggy door without a problem, and doesn't counter-surf in the kitchen. In addition she stays off furniture, and is crate trained (although she prefers to be free of the crate).
Diva has spent a lot of time in doggy day-care situations, and over time has become very social with dogs as well as humans. Her foster family says: “Our 3 goldies are crazy about her, even the grumpy old guy!”
She's so excited about the attention she's getting that she just literally jumps for joy. Early mornings and late afternoons when she's really excited to see you, she tends to be a little mouthy, but we're working with her on that. She’s so cute about it - if you tell her 'Stop!', she leans into you as if to say "Oh no, I'm sorry, I forgot!"
But Diva is not for the "casual" dog owner, as she will continue to need love, patience, and understanding - as well as outlets for her enthusiasm. She's such a busy girl, she'll need a firm hand to help her learn what is expected of her - and to ensure she'll be safe. She'll do best in a household without small children (to send tumbling!) or cats (to chase!), with one or more human companions who are dog-savvy and as active as she is.
This youngster is FULL of life and energy - she just wants a forever home with people who love her. We know Diva would be the loving star of your show!
